It’s Official: Oasis to Kick Off Reunion World Tour with Two Huge Shows in Cardiff
The rumours are over. The wait is over. After 16 years of bitter feuds, public spats, and feverish speculation, Oasis are back. And in the biggest music news to hit Wales in decades, the legendary band will kick off their entire reunion world tour right here in Cardiff.
Forget the social media whispers and fan-made posters. This is the real deal. In a seismic announcement that sent shockwaves across the globe, Liam and Noel Gallagher confirmed they have buried the hatchet and will reunite for the ‘Oasis Live ‘25’ tour.
The tour will launch with two monumental dates at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Friday, 4th and Saturday, 5th July 2025.
In a statement that electrified fans, the band declared: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”
Here is everything you need to know about the biggest gigs Wales will see all decade.
The Dates & The Support Acts
The initial rumours of a single August date proved to be just the tip of the iceberg. Cardiff has been given the prestigious honour of hosting the opening nights of the entire world tour.
- When: Friday, 4th July 2025 & Saturday, 5th July 2025
- Where: Principality Stadium, Cardiff
- Support Acts: In a lineup that screams 90s Britpop royalty, Oasis will be supported by Richard Ashcroft, the iconic frontman of The Verve, and Liverpool rock band Cast.
These will be the only European dates for the band next year outside of further shows in Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin, making the Cardiff gigs a beacon for fans across the continent.
The Scramble for Tickets
As expected, the demand for tickets following the official announcement was astronomical. When tickets went on general sale via Ticketmaster, SeeTickets, and Gigs and Tours, they were snapped up in a matter of minutes, leaving many fans empty-handed.
Currently, official vendors have extremely limited or no availability. Fans looking to buy tickets now are advised to only use official fan-to-fan resale platforms like Twickets and to be extremely wary of unofficial sites and social media sellers charging hugely inflated prices.
Your Guide to the Oasis Cardiff Takeover
For the 150,000 lucky ticket-holders descending on the Welsh capital over the two nights, this weekend will be one for the history books. Here’s the essential information to plan your weekend.
Travel: Getting to the Stadium
The city centre will effectively be a fortress. Expect major road closures around the Principality Stadium from early afternoon on both days.
- By Train: The best way to get to the stadium. Cardiff Central is just a few minutes’ walk away. Transport for Wales and Great Western Railway will be running additional services, but prepare for exceptionally busy trains and long, managed queues at the station post-concert. Do not leave it until the last train.
- By Car: Driving into the city centre is strongly discouraged. Use the designated Park & Ride facilities located at various points on the outskirts of the city, which will be clearly signposted on all major routes into Cardiff. Book these in advance.
Accommodation: The Great Hotel Rush
If you have a ticket but no hotel, you need to act fast. Hotel rooms in Cardiff for that weekend were booked solid within hours of the announcement.
- Expand Your Search: Look for accommodation in Newport, Bridgend, the Valleys, or even Bristol. All are on direct train lines to Cardiff Central.
- Check Airbnb: There may still be private rentals available, but prices will be at a premium.
The Band: Who’s on Stage?
While the focus is firmly on the Gallagher brothers, reports from multiple music insiders suggest the reunion lineup will feature familiar faces. It’s widely expected that Gem Archer (guitar) and Andy Bell (bass), who joined in 1999, will return. The legendary Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs is also expected to feature on guitar, with a new drummer, Joey Waronker (known for his work with Beck and R.E.M.), behind the kit.
After years of dreaming, it’s finally happening. Oasis are back, and their road to world domination starts right here in South Wales. It’s going to be biblical.
